This ink study of Quercus spp. captures the quiet strength and elegance of the oak. I focused on the gentle curve of the stem, letting it lead the eye naturally from the rooted base up to the twin acorns, each nestled in its cup with a sense of quiet weight. The lobed leaf, drawn with loose but intentional lines, reflects the characteristic form of the genus without overwhelming the composition. I chose a limited grayscale wash to keep the focus on structure and rhythm rather than detail, letting the form speak for itself.
