Study no. 13

The sparse composition becomes its strength. The branch is bare, the leaves are few, and the fruit is round and full—almost childlike in its form. There is no urgency in the lines, only care. This is not a fruit painted to seduce or dazzle; it is simply there. Its presence is gentle, but unwavering.

Color is used like breath—soft washes of red and green layered transparently, allowing the white paper to speak just as much as the pigment. The use of negative space around the object is contemplative; it suggests that silence and stillness are just as meaningful as what is painted.

This work feels like a pause. It is a moment where the viewer is invited to notice, to look slowly and without judgment. In this way, simplicity becomes a form of reverence—not for complexity, but for the beauty of the ordinary.
