From Minimalism, I take the idea of restraint: the decision to remove excess, to strip down to what is essential.

From Color Field painting, I borrow the sense of immersion. Here, it is not bold chromatic intensity but the subtle gradations of light and surface that create atmosphere.

And in Lyrical Abstraction, I find the permission to let gesture remain — however understated. The brushwork softens the stillness.
