This study focuses on the anatomy and posture of a deer in a prone position. Using graphite, I explored the weight distribution of the body, with particular attention to the stretched limbs and curvature of the ribcage. The head and antlers are more clearly defined, providing a focal point within the otherwise loose and gestural treatment of the form. The work serves as both an anatomical exercise and an exploration of how line can convey tension and repose in an animal figure.
